The DAB licence was advertised by Ofcom

 on February 7, 2007. At the close on May 9, 2007, the regulator had received two applications. One by MuxCo (Wrexham & Cheshire), the other from Now Digital, a wholly owned subsidiary of GCap Media PLC (at the time). On September 6, 2007, it was announced that MuxCo (Wrexham & Cheshire) had won the licence.
