A $21 million expansion broke ground on Monday, December 4, 2006 and more than doubled the size of the museum. The new north wing (33,000-square-feet)--Hazel Hough wing—was finished in 2008. The expansion included a new cafe, an enlarged library and a bigger museum shop.
