Mindanao State University

{{refimprove|date=December 2010}} '''Mindanao State University''' (commonly referred to as '''MSU Marawi''') is a public coeducational institution of higher education located in the Islamic City of [[Marawi]], [[Philippines]]. Founded in 1961 it is the flagship and the largest campus of the Mindanao State University System. ==History== The school was first conceived by the 1954 Congressional Committee of the Philippines, who saw in it an opportunity help create a sense of national identity. The university was founded on 1 September 1961 and opened in 1962 with 282 students and 12 faculty members on a single campus in Marawi City. The university expanded from that base to include seven individual campuses in Buug, General Santos, Iligan, LNAC, LNCAT, Maguindanao and Naawan, housing a total of more than 53,000 students in 2011. That same year, there were over 3,000 faculty members. ==Computer Lab Training== The Foundation for Information Technology Education and Development (FIT-ED), with World Links, installed on May, 2008, the first computer laboratory at the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), with 11 networked computers and broadband Internet access, for in-service and pre-service teachers.
