Also, in 1971, the team hosted a unofficial women's World Cup reaching the final, only to lose to Denmark 3-0. A estimated 110,000 people attended the final at Estadio Azteca that day. The team again is re-gaining popularity, as the U-20 team finished in the quarter-finals in the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup
