MCC offers 6 complete degrees and 11 options online. MCC benefits from one of the most highly regarded Instructional Design Services departments in higher education. The Fort Omaha campus also features student housing. MCC is also contracted by the state of Nebraska to provide a limited college education to inmates housed in the states various correctional facilities. MCC Security guards received police powers after a vote by the school's board of governors on June 23, 2010. === History === Founded in 2011 when the [[Nebraska State Legislature]] consolidated the state's eight technical community college areas into six, the system was originally named the Metropolitan Technical Community College Area. In 1992, it was renamed the Metropolitan Community College Area. MCC has campuses in [[North Omaha, Nebraska|North Omaha]] at [[Fort Omaha]], in [[South Omaha]], and in [[Elkhorn, Nebraska|Elkhorn]], as well as centers in [[Bellevue, Nebraska|Bellevue]], [[La Vista, Nebraska|La Vista]] and [[Fremont, Nebraska|Fremont]], the Applied Technology Center and classes at [[Offutt Air Force Base]], several area high schools and more than 110 offsite locations. As of 2007, MCC had an annual enrollment of over 29,000 credit students and over 17,000 non-credit students.
