Marc-René de Voyer de Paulmy d'Argenson (13 December 1623, Blois - May 1700, Venice) seigneur d'Argenson et de Vueil-le-Mesnil, comte de Rouffiac, was a French knight, politician and diplomat.

and replaced his father as French ambassador to the Venetian Republic, where he then lived until 28 November 1655. On 25 January 1654 the king of France elevated Rouffiac
in Angoumois
to the status of a county in Marc-René's favour. Marc-René obtained letters patent as honorary maître des requêtes
on 14 February 1657. He was a friend of Jean-Louis Guez de Balzac
.
On 8 May 1650 he married Marguerite Houlier de La Pouyade. They had 7 children :
