 air field. The first show, Mosaeroshow-92, was held in 1992. Since 1993, it was renamed to its current name and is held on odd years (MAKS-1993, MAKS-1995, MAKS-1997, MAKS-1999, MAKS-2001, MAKS-2003, MAKS-2005, MAKS-2007, MAKS-2009, MAKS-2011).

MAKS is an important event in Russian business. Although it started mainly as an entertainment event, the show soon became a marketplace where Russian airplane manufacturers could find export contracts and Russian air carriers could find foreign contacts. The whole event became important through CIS
