The Bang M1922 was a semi automatic rifle of US Origin designed by the Danish arms designer Søren Hansen Bang. It was a modification of the 1909 models both chambered in the .30-06 Springfield

 round. At its field trials in 1919 and again in 1927, the demonstrator of the rifle was its designer Søren H. Bang. It was gas operated, using a muzzle cup system. It was ultimately unused, as the corrosive primers of the time fouled the muzzle cup, causing it to fail. The Bang system was also used in the Gewehr 41
