. He was perhaps a son of the Marcus Nonius Arrius Mucianus Manlius Carbo, Suffect Consul probably under emperor Commodus and the grandson of Marcus Nonius Macrinus, Suffect Consul in the year 154. His wife was Sextia Asinia Polla. Mucianus became ordinary consul in 201 and from the year 204 onwards; he became a Quindecimviri sacris faciundis, a sacred priest in charge of the Sibylline books.
