 river lies to the northwest. Businesses include Vako and Ilamko. Other businesses includes the Soil Science Institute and the Institute of Technology of Agricultural Products which is administered by NAGREF. There are branches of several banks including National Bank of Greece and Eurobank and a post office (located opposite the town hall).
