Post was best friends with Veruca Salt bandmate Nina Gordon

, but Gordon left the band following acrimonious personal disagreements between the two in the late 1990s. Post also cited creative differences as a reason for the split. The next Veruca Salt album, 2000's Resolver, included lyrics that implied hostility towards Gordon. The two had apparently reconciled by 2003 and were friendly once more "but not at the same intensity." In October 2006, Post complimented Gordon's pop music.

After Beyond records went under (Resolver), Post once again reformed Veruca Salt with guitarist Stephen Fitzpatrick. In 2005, the band toured and released an E.P titled "Lords of Sounds and Lesser Things." After wrapping the 2005 tour, the band finally released their fourth full album titled "IV" (four) in September 2006.

 were friends and one-time musical collaborators: "I moved to L.A., and I was in a band with Courtney Love for about five minutes." Post said, "I felt like I needed a bath afterwards," in regards to her unavailing collaboration with Love during an interview for Capital Chaos TV in 2006.

On March 30, 2008, Post married boyfriend Tony Parks in Vegas. Post had been dating Parks since 2001. Parks fronts another band called The Brontosaur.

In 2008, Post was one of the contributors to Carrie Borzillo-Vrenna's book Cherry Bomb.

In January 2010, Post announced she was pregnant with her first child. Tony Parks and Louise announce baby Lila born April 28, 2010.
