The Malinke, Konyaka, and Kissi refer to the Loma as Toma. Loma today refer to themselves as Löömàgìtì (lɔːmàɡìtì, or Löghömagiti lɔɣɔmaɡiti in Guinea), meaning "Loma people," and call their language Löömàgòòi
