The term "loaf" sometimes refers to "head" from the rhyming slang "loaf of bread" (as in "use your loaf" instead of "use your head").

The term "loaf" also refers to laziness, as in when one is "loafing around the house". The present tense form of this is still sometimes spelled "loaves", as in "Mary often loaves around the house when Jason is at work," although most authorities prefer "loafs".
