The word "Krishna" is thought to originate from the sanskrit root "karshana", which means "to attract, to draw near"".Therefore the word "Krishna" means "the one who draws", or "the one who attracts".
This notion that "the word Krishna [...] means the all-attractive" current in ISKCON, has gained further support from Prabhupada's commentary on Bhagavata Purana
