of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Being a child of one of the "Big Three" (Zeus, Hades, Poseidon), Percy is the child of the prophecy of the Oracle, which foretells that the next half-blood child of the "Big Three" to reach the age of sixteen would have to make a decision that would mean the destruction or saving of Olympus. However, Percy is not the hero. He has hydrokinetic powers that develop throughout the story, becoming strong enough for him to summon a small hurricane in the Last Olympian. Simply being in water can also heal and energize him, water pressure has no effect on him, and he can see underwater at any depth. In The Battle of The Labyrinth, he gets a pet Hellhound named Mrs. O'Leary. He can also communicate with equestrian animals such as Pegasi and Hippocampi, since his
father is the god who created horses. He has a sword called Anaklusmos (Riptide) that was a gift from his father Poseidon, delivered to him by Chiron
. It can transform into looking like ballpoint pen when capped. It is made of celestial bronze and he can never lose it; it will always return to his pocket. He was technically only selected to go on two of the four quests in the series, the first being the retrieval of Zeus' master thunderbolt. In The Battle of the Labyrinth

Percy has been running from Medusa's sisters for days when he finally reaches Camp Jupiter, having to cross the Little Tiber river, and removing the curse of Achilles. Mars appears and claims Frank Zhang as his son and sends Frank, Percy and Hazel Levesque on a quest to free Thanatos. Percy memories are very weak, he remembers Annabeth as someone who kisses him when he does something stupid, and that she must have kissed him a lot.
Throughout the series, Percy is described as having his father's jet black hair and deep sea green eyes. His strong resemblance to Poseidon is one of the reasons why Medusa wanted to keep him as a statue. When he first arrives at Camp Half Blood, he is described as weak, skinny, and unfit, but eventually becomes more athletic due to his training at Camp Half-Blood. After the events of The Titan's Curse, Percy gains gray streaks in his hair after taking Atlas' burden of holding up the sky. It is not mentioned if the grey streaks disappear over time or not, as they have never been talked about again in the series. According to the UK website, Percy is 5'10" by The Last Olympian.

Annabeth Chase is a daughter of Athena
and the mortal Frederick Chase. She is shown to be somewhat pompous at first, but quickly warms to Percy during their first quest together. Being a daughter of Athena, she is very intelligent and has a fascination with architecture
. In battle, she is a skilled enough fighter to hold her ground with Percy, but is superior to him in strategy. She ran away from home when she was seven and met Luke and Thalia, who took her with them to get to Camp Half-Blood. She believes she was in love with Luke, but was drawn to Percy's natural bravery and loyalty. She aids Percy in four of his five quests and is captured in one of them. Though she harbored interest for Luke, she eventually gravitates towards Percy. In "The Last Olympian
" she tells Luke that she loved him as a brother, showing that her true love had always been Percy. She kisses him in The Battle of the Labyrinth
when he was going into Mt. St. Helens and the telekhines attacking them are distracted. Percy also harbors feelings for her and gets jealous when she talks about Luke. She is very protective of her friends, especially Percy, as she felt extremely jealous when Percy befriended Rachel. At the end of the entire series, Percy and Annabeth are together. She owns a Yankee cap that makes the one who wears it invisible, as a 12th birthday gift from her mother. She fights with a knife that was given to her by Luke. At the end of The Battle of the Labyrinth
Daedalus gives her his computer that was filled with Daedalus's notes and ideas. In The Lost Hero
, Annabeth throughout the book is constantly trying to find Percy, organizing search parties and going out trying to find him.
She is the Athena's cabin's councilor. She was originally requested to go on the quest to save Hera, but declines so she can look for Percy.
Annabeth is described as being athletic and having curly blond hair, tan skin, and stormy gray eyes. Annabeth's personality has been implied to very down to earth as she doesn't care about her appearance, always sporting a simple orange camp shirt and jeans. She is described by Percy throughout the first four books to be very "cute" but initially claims her to be very beautiful in the final book of the Percy Jackson Series.

He has found the four most powerful demigods of the century: Percy Jackson (son of Poseidon), Thalia Grace (daughter of Zeus), and Nico and Bianca di Angelo (children of Hades). Grover falls in love with a tree nymph called Juniper, who inhibits a juniper bush, from the beginning of the 4th book, The Battle of the Labyrinth. Before Pan's death, the nature god proclaims Grover as the bravest satyr
ever to be and names Grover as his successor to carry on his word to protect the wilderness. The Council of Cloven Elders is angered by this choice. But in The Last Olympian
he is chosen as a replacement for Leneus (another Satyr who died in battle) for The Council of Cloven Elders after showing bravery on the battlefield.But in the Lightning Thief trying to get Percy Jackson to Camp Halfblood he got hurt when the minotaur attacked that he passed out and almost died but he got Percy to camp safely.
Grover is a curly brown-haired satyr with brown eyes, white skin, brown chin beard and hairy brown goat legs. His height is 4'5", but later turns 5'9". In the movie: curly brown hair, brown eyes, hairy brown goat legs and brown skin.

's children and the main demigod antagonist of the series. Though initially the counselor of Cabin 11 and an ally to Percy, he revealed his true nature as a high-ranking member of Kronos's army by attempting to kill Percy at the end of The Lightning Thief
, and on several occasions afterward. He is shown to harbor a great bitterness towards the gods (particularly his father, Hermes) for what he regards as abandonment. His mother had been driven insane upon attempting to impress Hermes by becoming the Oracle, leading to a stressful childhood for Luke. After physically reforming, Kronos does not need Luke's assistance. However, in his duel with Percy on Mount Olympus, striking Annabeth reminds him of his promise to protect her. This temporarily frees him from Kronos's influence. Percy makes his choice to give Luke Annabeth's knife, and Luke, cursed by the broken promise, kills himself by stabbing his own Achilles heel to destroy Kronos. This fulfills the prophecy, with Luke being the foretold hero. And in the Titan's Curse he almost kills Thalia.

. She is Jason's older sister and the cousin of Percy Jackson, Bianca and Nico Di Angelo. Grover Underwood was assigned to watch over her when she ran away from home at ten years old. On her journey, she met Luke Castellan and Annabeth Chase. It is said she developed romantic feelings for Luke. They also had brief encounters with the Hunters of Artemis and she was enticed to join them by Zoë Nightshade. When she was twelve, they were all attacked by a herd of monsters and caught by a Cyclops in New York. She was captured, but thanks to Annabeth, was freed. They meet the satyr Grover Underwood on the way. They escaped, but found that the monsters they had briefly escaped had caught up to them. As they reached Half-Blood Hill, Thalia sent Luke, Grover, and Annabeth over the boundary line while she faced the monsters. She sacrificed her life for her friends, and her father, Zeus, took pity on her before she died and transformed her into a white pine tree to prevent her death. She is later brought back to life by the Golden Fleece and joins the quest in The Titan's Curse
where she ultimately joins the Hunters of Artemis, taking the place of Zoë Nightshade. At first, she doesn't get along well with Zoë, but later they grow to respect each other. Thalia's fatal flaw is that she has little resistance to power. In Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian, she arrives with the Hunters to help Percy fight Kronos
and his army. She fights alongside Percy, Annabeth and Grover for most of the battle. When they are on their way to confront Luke/Kronos, she gets trapped under Hera
's statue which was intended for Annabeth and Percy, who were just saved in time by Thalia. She has a younger brother, Jason Grace
who was separated from her when she was 10. In The Lost Hero
, this is revealed to be the reason she ran away from home. She meets Jason twice in the book and they develop a close bond. When she and Hera
come face to face, they have an argument where Thalia blames her for many incidents in which Hera showed her evil colours. She wears a lot of dark makeup and punk style clothing. She has electric blue eyes and spiky black hair. Thalia's personality is so much like Percy's that according to Annabeth, 'they either could be best friends... or worst enemies.'
, the son of Poseidon
and his mother is unknown. He is not a demigod, but at Camp Half-Blood he resides in Percy's cabin, and is Percy's half-brother. He first appears in The Sea of Monsters
as a homeless boy. He is afraid of Grover while Grover is also afraid of him. Also in the "Sea of Monsters" he was Percy's best friend and was always picked on. At the end of the book, he gets to go to work for his father, Poseidon in the Underwater Armory. He also accompanies Annabeth on her quest in The Battle of the Labyrinth
In The Son of Neptune
Tyson is the one who finds Percy's scent. In one of Percy's dreams, Percy tells Tyson to find his harpy friend Ella(who was hiding in the woods in Canada) and bring her to Camp Jupiter. After they meet Percy at Camp Jupiter, Percy noticed how much Ella spoke of Tyson and noticed the two like each other.
, but Nico and Bianca were born before the pact was made, and had been placed in the Lotus
Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada
, a casino that prevents its occupants from aging. This part of Nico and Bianca's background is first hinted at during The Titan's Curse when the gang is forced to enter the Washington Metro
to escape a pursuing helicopter. Nico and Bianca both seem to think that the Metro is very new, as it wasn't there "the last time" they went through Washington DC - a statement that at first seems ususual, given that they are described as being in their teens, and the first segments of the Washington Metro opened in 1976, well before they would have been born.
It wasn't until over seventy years after they were put up (or a few weeks in Lotus time) that they were finally taken from the hotel by one of Hades's agents (in disguise as a lawyer), who delivered them to Washington, D.C.
and then to a college in Maine
. Nico typically wields a three-foot-long Stygian iron sword (as opposed to celestial bronze), which not only kills monsters, but also absorbs their essence, and it has been implied that Stygian iron weapons can only be used by denizens of the Underworld.
Nico has the powers of necromancy (ability to reanimate/talk to/control the dead) limited control over the earth (in The Titan's Curse
he creates a large fissure at Camp Half-Blood that swallows several skeletal warriors that had been sent on killing Percy) shadow travel, and other talents stemming from his father. For a time, he was Percy's enemy, blaming him for the fact that he had failed to protect Bianca as he had promised, but they eventually became friends. Nico tried multiple times to contact his sister and had difficulty contacting her, even using his dreams. Nico refused to stay at Camp Half-Blood in the fourth book after noting that he was not welcomed there; he compares this to the fact that his father is not welcomed at Olympus. Several months later, he informed Percy of a plan that could lead to defeating Kronos.
In the final book, he convinces Percy to bathe in the River Styx, making him invincible, except for a small spot on his back. Even though bringing him to the Underworld under the pretense of bathing in the Styx to become invincible was a trick to get more information about his mother (whom he had forgotten, as the Fury Alecto dipped him in the River Lethe in the Underworld, in accordance with Hades' orders after his mother's death) this plan did follow through, because Hades was highly cryptic in what he told him, and still threw Percy in jail. Nico later helped him escape (after Percy almost strangles him), and Percy, not sure if he was still angry with Nico for tricking him, tells him to stay behind in the Underworld to convince Hades to help the Olympians in the war. He succeeds at this and later helps wear down Kronos's forces. In the end of the final book Percy asks all the gods and goddess to 'claim' all their children and make sure they have cabins in Camp Half-blood. Nico goes back to the camp and makes a cabin for himself and all the other minor gods and goddess' children.
In The Lost Hero
it is mentioned that he shows up from time to time and that he is also looking for Percy. In The Son of Neptune
he is revealed to be Hazel's half-brother and claims to not know Percy. He does this because he thinks Percy has to find his own way among the Romans at Camp Jupiter. At the end of the book, it is mentioned that Nico is captured while looking for the Doors of Death, and that he'll be found in Rome. Gaea hints to Hazel that Nico is dead, and Hazel "had a feeling the goddess was telling the truth."

. He and Percy Jackson have exchanged places (both involuntarily), because they are the respective leaders at both camps. Jason tries to recall who he is and begins to remember some pieces of his former life. He often shows similar traits with Percy.
Jason has tidily cropped golden blond hair, bright blue eyes, and a scar on the corner of his lip (according to Thalia, he tried to eat a stapler when he was two). He is of average height with athletic build, having muscular tanned arms. He has an intimidating tattoo burned under his forearm: 12 straight lines like a bar code with an eagle (the symbol of Zeus/Jupiter) and the letters "SPQR" over the lines. Jason doesn't remember where he got the marks, but he believes he got them from Camp Jupiter.
and friend of Jason. At the beginning of The Lost Hero
she believes that Jason is her boyfriend due to the Mist. After learning that her memories of Jason are false, she still harbors feelings for him. Unlike most children of Aphrodite, Piper is tomboyish and not concerned with her appearance or fashion. Her father is Tristan McLean, a famous Cherokee actor. Despite being labeled a "bad kid" at the Wilderness School, her "bad" actions are all for her dad's attentions. She uses charmspeak, a rare ability of Aphrodite's children, to convince people to give her things (such as a BMW convertable at a dealership), later getting in trouble for "stealing." Refusing to give in to her cabin's head counselor Drew's bullying, she stands up for her brothers and sisters and challenges Drew for the position, becoming the head counselor.
Like all children of Aphrodite, Piper is described as very beautiful. She has choppy and uneven chocolate brown hair and eyes that change color like a "kaleidoscope" (blue to green to brown). Piper is half-Cherokee from her father's side. She has a slim build and an average height.
,and a close friend of Jason Grace. At the beginning of The Lost Hero
, the Mist has made him believe Jason is his best friend. Later they do actually become best friends. Leo also has the ability to touch and produce fire, a skill that no other son of Hephaestus has had in four hundred years. As a child of Hephaestus, he is also an excellent mechanic. He discovers a secret bunker hidden in the forest and finds a magic tool belt in the bunker which grants him most things he wants (except anything too large or magical). He uses the bunker and tool belt to repair the bronze dragon that was previously running wild in the camp's woods, naming it Festus after his initial mispronunciation of his father's name. When he visits Boreas with Jason and Piper, he is left with 'Cal' because fire and ice do not mix well. He is a joker and cannot keep his hands still, and also falls quickly for girls. He even uses the tool belt to summon breath mints in order to try and woo Khione, goddess of snow and daughter of Boreas. But she ends up being evil so he falls for Jason's sister, Thalia.
In the novel Leo is described as looking like a "Latino Santa's elf" with curly black hair, dark brown eyes, pointy ears, a cheerful babyish face, and a mischievous smile. He is described as being of normal height with a slim build.
In The Son of Neptune
, Hazel Levesque and Percy Jackson both agree that he is an exact twin to Sammy Valdez, Hazel's former boyfriend
, and a friend of Frank Zhang. She appears in The Son of Neptune
at Camp Jupiter, the camp for Roman demigods. She grew up in New Orleans, where her mother had a gris-gris shop. She would find precious metals/gems all the time, however anyone who took them suffered a terrible misfortune. Her mother took her to Alaska where Gaia used her to bring Alcyoneus, back to life. Hazel's mother changed her mind about helping Gaea and died. Hazel sacrificed herself to delay Alcyoneus' rebirth. She died in 1942, and at her judgement she gave up the Fields of Elysium to save her mother from punishment, sending them both to Asphodel instead.
Hazel has some (Louisiana) Creole blood on her mothers side, and she knows a small amount of French.
When Thanatos was first captured Nico di Angelo went looking for his sister, Bianca, but she was already gone, having chosen to be reborn. Nico gave Hazel a second chance at life, helping her escape the Underworld and taking her to Camp Jupiter. Hazel journeys with Frank and Percy to free Thanatos. She tames Arion, a violent horse that eats precious metals.
Leo Valdez, from The Lost Hero, looks exactly like Hazel's boyfriend, Sammy Valdez, in her past life.
Pluto/Hades is hinted to want her to have a second chance as Thanatos says when asked, that she is not on his list of escaped souls.
Hazel is described as having cocoa-colored skin, and her eyes, as described by Percy, are a 'luminous gold'. Frank, who has an obvious crush on her, describes her hair as 'cinnamon toast' colored, and that she is tiny compared to him.
, and a friend of Hazel Levesque. He appears in The Son of Neptune
as a camper at Camp Jupiter. His family is Chinese and his mother recently died in Afhganistan. When he was a child, Juno came to their family homestead in the form of smoke saying that the wood creating the smoke is now connected to Frank's life and if it ever burns out he will die to. He later uses the stick to free Thanatos from his ice chains. Luckily, a small portion of the stick wasn't burned and he was still alive.
He is the descendant of Periclymenus
, the grandson of Neptune who was granted the power to shapeshift. Eventually his descendants where sent to China for slavery. Many years later, their family migrated to Canada where Frank was eventually born. Later, he transformed into an elephant to drag Alcyoneus out of his territory and successfully killed him with Hazel.
He expected himself to be the son of Apollo due to his archery skills.
He was described as having a babyish face with chubby cheeks to go with it with black military cut. He has a big frame and is stoutly built.
Titans
, Nico's older sister, Percy and the Grace siblings' cousin and later, a Huntress of Artemis
. After Artemis is kidnapped in The Titan's Curse, she undertakes the quest to rescue Artemis alongside Percy Jackson, Grover, Thalia Grace, and Zoë Nightshade. She sacrifices herself to destroy a defunct prototype of Talos because she stole an item from the Junkyard of the Gods. Nico di Angelo blames Percy for her death and harbors hard feelings for him for a while afterward.

For a time, he was Percy's enemy, blaming him for the fact that he had failed to protect Bianca as he had promised, but they eventually became friends. Nico tried multiple times to contact his sister and had difficulty contacting her, even using his dreams. Nico refused to stay at Camp Half-Blood in the fourth book after noting that he was not welcomed there; he compares this to the fact that his father is not welcomed at Olympus. Several months later, he informed Percy of a plan that could lead to defeating Kronos.
In the final book, he convinces Percy to bathe in the River Styx, making him invincible, except for a small spot on his back. Even though bringing him to the Underworld under the pretense of bathing in the Styx to become invincible was a trick to get more information about his mother (whom he had forgotten, as the Fury Alecto dipped him in the River Lethe in the Underworld, in accordance with Hades' orders after his mother's death) this plan did follow through, because Hades was highly cryptic in what he told him, and still threw Percy in jail. Nico later helped him escape (after Percy almost strangles him), and Percy, not sure if he was still angry with Nico for tricking him, tells him to stay behind in the Underworld to convince Hades to help the Olympians in the war. He succeeds at this and later helps wear down Kronos's forces. In the end of the final book Percy asks all the gods and goddess to 'claim' all their children and make sure they have cabins in Camp Half-blood. Nico goes back to the camp and makes a cabin for himself and all the other minor gods and goddess' children.

Leo also has the ability to touch and produce fire, a skill that no other son of Hephaestus has had in four hundred years. As a child of Hephaestus, he is also an excellent mechanic. He discovers a secret bunker hidden in the forest and finds a magic tool belt in the bunker which grants him most things he wants (except anything too large or magical). He uses the bunker and tool belt to repair the bronze dragon that was previously running wild in the camp's woods, naming it Festus after his initial mispronunciation of his father's name. When he visits Boreas with Jason and Piper, he is left with 'Cal' because fire and ice do not mix well. He is a joker and cannot keep his hands still, and also falls quickly for girls. He even uses the tool belt to summon breath mints in order to try and woo Khione, goddess of snow and daughter of Boreas. But she ends up being evil so he falls for Jason's sister, Thalia.

at Camp Jupiter, the camp for Roman demigods. She grew up in New Orleans, where her mother had a gris-gris shop. She would find precious metals/gems all the time, however anyone who took them suffered a terrible misfortune. Her mother took her to Alaska where Gaia used her to bring Alcyoneus, back to life. Hazel's mother changed her mind about helping Gaea and died. Hazel sacrificed herself to delay Alcyoneus' rebirth. She died in 1942, and at her judgement she gave up the Fields of Elysium to save her mother from punishment, sending them both to Asphodel instead.
Hazel has some (Louisiana) Creole blood on her mothers side, and she knows a small amount of French.
When Thanatos was first captured Nico di Angelo went looking for his sister, Bianca, but she was already gone, having chosen to be reborn. Nico gave Hazel a second chance at life, helping her escape the Underworld and taking her to Camp Jupiter. Hazel journeys with Frank and Percy to free Thanatos. She tames Arion, a violent horse that eats precious metals.
Leo Valdez, from The Lost Hero, looks exactly like Hazel's boyfriend, Sammy Valdez, in her past life.
Pluto/Hades is hinted to want her to have a second chance as Thanatos says when asked, that she is not on his list of escaped souls.
Hazel is described as having cocoa-colored skin, and her eyes, as described by Percy, are a 'luminous gold'. Frank, who has an obvious crush on her, describes her hair as 'cinnamon toast' colored, and that she is tiny compared to him.

She is later seen holding Chris's hand at a campfire after Dionysus cures him of his madness. She later befriends Silena Beauregard, apparently after Silena gives her advice on her first boyfriend. She and her cabin later fight with the Apollo cabin over a flying chariot. Later, she prevents Cabin 5 from joining in the battle of Manhattan because of the chariot fight, though Michael Yew gives it to them. Silena later impersonates her to bring the Ares cabin into the battle by taking her armor and spear. Silena is killed by a drakon during this charade. To avenge her friend, Clarisse stabs the drakon in the eye, breaking her spear and electrocuting the drakon. She then runs at Kronos's armies, appearing to be as invulnerable as Percy, even though she does not have the Curse of Achilles. Percy recognizes that an aura around her highly resembles that of Ares when Percy fought him. Thalia remarks that it is a blessing of Ares and that she has never seen it before in person.

When the camp is attacked by a large flock of Stymphalian birds, Tantalus blames it on Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson's "bad chariot driving" despite that they were the ones who defeated the birds. When Tyson is brought to camp, Tantalus insults and makes fun of him even when Tyson is claimed by Poseidon. When at the end of the book, his curse is lifted by Dionysus just before he is sent back to the Underworld as he attempts to take some food along, though none of the campers were sad to see him go.

It is hinted throughout the series that she harbors romantic feelings for Percy. In The Last Olympian, she begins having strange visions and becomes the new Oracle of Delphi after Hades's curse is lifted, under the guidance of Chiron and Apollo. Her first act as the Oracle is to deliver the Great Prophecy of the next generation of heroes.
- Sally Jackson - The daughter of Jim and Laura Jackson. She is the mother of Percy and she was married to "Smelly" Gabe." She then turned him to stone with the head of Medusa, and married Paul Blofis in the fifth book.
