The following is a list of clubs who have played in the Premier League at any time since its formation in 1992 to the current season. Premier League teams playing in the 2008–09 Premier League season are indicated in bold.

All statistics here refer to time in the Premier League only, with the exception of 'First season' which refers to the first season of a club's current spell in the top tier of English football in general, and 'Most recent finish' which refers to all levels of play:
