History

LSSI got its start in 1982 with the MINI MARC minicomputer cataloging system, and custom software development for libraries and other library support companies. It expanded into running libraries at federal agencies. In 1997 it began operating public libraries after signing a contract with the Riverside County Library System in California. When ranked by number of branches, it places immediately after Los Angeles County, New York City, Chicago and the City of Los Angeles.
