Educated at Mount Allison University (B.A. 1958) and Dalhousie University (LL.B. 1961). Called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1962 and the Bar of Alberta 1973. Appointed Queen’s Counsel 1984. Co-founding Partner, Thorsteinsson, Mitchell, Little (Thorsteinssons), Vancouver (1967-2002), Legal Counsel, Department of National Revenue, Legal Branch (1962-1967). Prior to his appointment, practiced exclusively in the field of tax litigation, served as Chair of the National Tax Section of the Canadian Bar Association and President of the British Columbia Branch of that organization, Director of the Bank of Canada (1986-92). Appointed Judge of the Tax Court of Canada on January 28, 2002.
