, Akhar, forces everyone aboard, they head for Kifa to rescue Myna's peers. Speed is of the essence for Kifa, a satellite-like city, is on a collision course with Vinea and Vinea's government

 has dispatched destruction missiles to obliterate Kifa. With the help of Myna's friends, Yoko is able to overthrow Gobol, Kifa's ruler and evacuate all living residents of the city.

At the end of the story, Yoko gains the ownership of Gobol's spaceship and renames it Ryu. Ryus female A.I. prompts Yoko to give her a five-lettered codename, with the first two letters required to be 'AK'; in line with Hégora's spaceship's A.I., called Akhar. Yoko names her Akina after a friend from her youth. The story of Yoko and this original Akina is part of the events described in L'Écume de l'aube

Background

The Myna character was initially designed as something that could easily be used for merchandise. During the development of Les Exilés de Kifa, there were plans for an animated feature about Yoko, which needed an easily markteable character like Myna.
