in 1945, Ribufo graduated from Rutgers University in 1966 with a B A. in history and from [Yale University] in 1976 with a Ph.D. in American Studies.
He taught at Yale University(1970–1972 and Bucknell University (1972–1973) before moving to George Washington University] in 1973.
