. The team's history began in 1891, when the Panachaikos Athletic Club was founded. Some dissatisfied members of that club broke away in 1893 to form the Gymnastiki Etairia Patras. The two clubs were rivals on the pitches until 1923, when they rejoined to form Panachaiki G.C.  Again, some members were not satisfied, and broke away to form Lefkos Asteras (White Star).
