The Premier and Cabinet (consisting of all the most senior ministers) are collectively accountable for their policies and actions to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, to the Legislative Assembly, to their political party and ultimately to the electorate.

Constitutional background

Until 2001 the position had no official recognition, but it was formalised by an Order of the British Government in July 2001, as the Leader of Government Business along with the Leader of the Opposition
