Khasab town is the regional center of Musandam Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman. It is located very close to the Strait of Hormuz about 60 km away from Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates. It is known for fishing and smuggling in small, fast boats, to and from Iran. They are destined for the Emirates and Saudi Arabia. A variety of goods taken back to Iran for sale. Cigarettes are the main export though scrap metal and white goods form a significant part.

Khasab is currently evolving as a tourist destination, the diving in the area being well known for its challenges. Mountain safaris are popular as are the Dhow cruises of the nearby Fjords. A new harbour and docks are currently under construction.
