Keri is a village in the southern part of the island of Zakynthos

About Keri

Keri is situated on the southern part of the island and is in the southernmost part of the Vrachiona mountains. Its area are mountainous and are mainly grassy and contains a few forests. Its rocky coastline dominates the area. Farmlands are within the village, it has a nearby lake.

History

Keri was ruled by the Venetians until the Napolenic Wars when it was controlled and ruled by the French

, it was partially rebuilt, almost every building in the villages were completely destroyed in the 1953 Ionian Earthquake

, afterwards, the village were rebuilt by the late-1950s and 1960 to rebuilt everything and at the time connected with asphalt. More pavement was accessed in the late 20th century. Electricity, radio and automobiles were introduced in the mid-20th century, television in the late-20th century and computer and internet at the turn of the millennium.
