The Kentucky State Police Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE), commonly known as Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement (KVE), is a statewide law enforcement agency for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  (KSP). The division employs both sworn officers and commercial vehicle inspectors.

Organization


This Division is divided into two operational troops : West Troop and the East Troop. The two troops operate six regional posts:

The agency also has Officers working with Kentucky State Police Special Operations Division that primarily focus on drug interdiction. The division operates the Commonwealth's system of commercial vehicle weigh stations. Their headquarters is located in Frankfort

Special Note


Although KVE officers primarily enforce commercial vehicle laws, their sworn officers, as peace officers of the Commonwealth, have full power to issue citations and make arrests. Prior to the merger with the KSP, KVE officers would often provide speed enforcement and enforced other traffic laws, acting as a de facto highway patrol
