installed. Most of the STARIS on the C151As in service have been activated.

Serial Number

Individual cars are assigned a 4 digit serial number by the rail operator, SMRT.
  • The car numbers of the trains range from x501 to x544,
  • where x depends depends upon whether the car is the first, second or third car from either end of the train. The first car uses the number 3, the second uses a 1 & the third uses a 2. (Example : 3501 for the first carriage)
  • The other 3 digits are the train identification number. A 3-car set has car numbers where the last three digits match, e.g. set 501 comprises cars 3501, 1501, 2501. Two 3-car sets are normally coupled to form a 6-car train.

Exterior design

The C151A is similar to the C751B in terms of exterior looks. The only obvious difference comes from the head of the C151A.
  • The C751B have orange LED displays front and rear of the train, which above the train operator's window, while the C151A have bright yellow LED displays. The LED displays was meant to show 3-digit Train Run Numbers.
  • The C151A have some sort of "eyebags" on its headlights unlike the C751B.
  • The C151A's head has a "smiley face" curve design unlike the C751B which design is straight.

Interior design

The C151A is similar to the C751B and the refurbished C151 in terms of interior looks.
  • The wall of train is glossy white similar to the C751B
  • The seats colour scheme, the floor, overhead panels and the placements of the door closing Red LED signals are similar to the C151.
  • Notable difference of the C151A is the thicker grab poles, the curve dark grey aircon ventilator, the different stickers used to depict the fire extinguisher and the side panels with curvy designs on it.
  • The train also comes with the STARIS embedded in the door's overhead panels.
