In June 2007, Akalé signed a 4 year contract with Lens for an undisclosed transfer fee, and he was loaned to Marseille in January 2008, then Recreativo Huelva. Originally a forward, he now plays as a midfielder or winger he is a pacey player with top technical abilities.
