. Initially starting as Kaikorai Valley High School in 1958, the school combined with Kenmure Intermediate School in 1996 to become Kaikorai Valley College, and in 2008 celebrated its 50th jubilee

The college has approximately 65 international students, and has a sister school relationship with Sakuragaoka High School in Japan. Facilities include its own theatre and dance studio. Night classes are run at the school for adult education. The college has recently had a major upgrade to the gymnasium finishing in 2008 and new boys changing rooms. The school also has a disabled and special needs unit.
