. As it is digital only, KGLA-DT's over-the-air signal is only receivable on sets equipped with HDTV tuners or Digital-to-SDTV tuner/conversion boxes. The station is also carried on selected cable systems in the New Orleans area.

KGLA's city of license, Hammond, and its transmitter in New Orleans, are both east of the Mississippi River

On August 27, 2007, WHMM-DT changed its call letters to KGLA-TV (after its radio half-sister). On December 21 of that year, the -TV suffix was replaced with the -DT suffix in the station's callsign.

The station launched its own website in late 2007.

The station can now been seen on DirecTV and Dish Network on channel 42 as part of the New Orleans local channels package, and also on AT&T U-verse on channel 42.
