's resignation as manager. On 24 April 2009, Edinburgh was appointed manager of Rushden & Diamonds on a permanent basis. He helped guide Rushden to their highest finish in a league table since the 2002–03 season. Just over a year later, Edinburgh secured a play-off spot within the Conference National and described it as his biggest achievement in management to date. Rushden were, however, unable to reach Wembley in the Conference Play Off Final after lacklustre performances in both games of the two legged tie against Oxford United. The games finished 1–1 and 2–0 to Oxford respectively. The following season saw Rushden secure a decent mid-table finish, though they never seriously challenged for promotion. That summer, the club was expelled from the Football Conference and subsequently went into liquidation, bringing Edinburgh's time at the club to an end.
