  icon. He is chairman of Cushman & Wakefield, a global real estate services firm which was founded by his grandfather (John Clydesdale Cushman) and his great uncle (Bernard Wakefield). Cushman and Wakefield married sisters.

Cushman joined Cushman & Wakefield Inc. in New York, NY in 1963. He opened an office in Los Angeles in 1967. He and his twin brother Louis B. Cushman then founded Cushman Realty Corporation on April 1, 1978. Cushman Realty Corporation merged with Cushman & Wakefield in 2001 when Cushman became chairman of Cushman & Wakefield, Inc.
Cushman & Wakefield has completed many of the largest office leasing and sales transactions in the U.S.
