. At 6,126 m m/24,118 ft (other sources: 6,094 m/23,992 ft) it is the tenth highest in Peru and the third in the Cordillera Huayhuash (after Yerupajá and Siula Grande). The mountain's local name means "Hummingbird Beak of Ice".
First climbed in July 1956 by 1950 by Toni Egger and Siegfried Jungmeir, the mountain is notoriously difficult and has been very few successful ascents. It is on average climbed less than once per year.

The easier rout to the summit is quoted TD but other difficult routes exist, many on them on vertical ice and with overhanging section of mixed terrain.
