Years later, Tavion, apprentice of Desann, returned with a Sith Cult named the Disciples of Ragnos. The left over reborn from Desann's project joined Tavion's cult as the 'New Reborn'. Also, Tavion made her own troops using Force power from a sceptor belonging to Marka Ragnos, an ancient Sith Lord. A major battle between the cult and the Academy occurred at Korriban, where Ragnos had been buried. Tavion was trying to resurrect him. Fortunately, the Jedi stopped this from happening, and Tavion was killed by the spirit of Marka Ragnos when he possessed her to fight Jaden Korr.

Most of the Jedi in Luke's New Jedi Order have been trained at the Academy and learned at least somewhat directly from him. The Jedi Academy, wherever it is, tends to be a base of operations for the Jedi, and sometimes a home when they are not performing other jobs for Luke or going about their personal lives.

Shortly after the war with the Vong ended, Luke established a new Praxeum on Ossus.
