Cheras UMNO chief Datuk Syed Ali Alhabshee has proposed that Jalan Ampang be renamed Jalan Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad in recognition of his service as prime minister for 22 years.

He said Dr Mahathir was responsible for developing Malaysia, a respected and important member of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC).
