 in 1887. He was elected to the Los Angeles Board of Education on December 5, 1904 for a two year term. However, Slauson resigned on September 23, 1905. His resignation was accepted a week later when Wilson Campbell Patterson was appointed as his successor. Slauson died shortly thereafter.
