 dance troupes when they toured Australia. He then moved to London in 1977, and has remained in the United Kingdom since then. In 1982, Spink co-founded Second Stride along with Siobhan Davies and Richard Alston.

/ Ian is currently Artistic Director of the DanceLive Festival and of citymoves dance agency in Aberdeen. Citymoves dance agency is the dance agency for North East Scotland, one of three national dance agencies for Scotland[1], along with Dance Base[2] in Edinburgh and Dance House[3] in Glasgow. Citymoves exists to support dance and dance artists, and is funded by the Scottish Arts Council.
