. O'Boyle plays the shooting guard position. O'Boyle has a reputation as a prolific scorer especially from 3 point range. During Ireland's last European championship campaign, O'Boyle averaged 10.8 ppg, 3pt: 48.1%. In a game against Luxembourg in 2009 he scored six consecutive first half three pointers and ended the game with 23 points in a winning effort.

Biography

O'Boyle was born in Dublin on the 6th March 1984 and was raised in Newbridge, Co. Kildare. He attended Patrician Brothers Secondary School in Newbridge, Co. Kildare and Trinity Pawling Preparatory school in New York. He was awarded Irish Junior National Player of the Year in 2003. While at Trinity Pawling, O'Boyle was named 1st team all tri state league and 1st team all-New England. After graduating from Trinity Pawling, O'Boyle accepted a scholarship to play at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). As a freshman, in the home opener for NJIT, O'Boyle led the team in scoring with 16 points to secure a win over the division II number one ranked team in the nation, Philadelphia University. During the 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 Irish Superleague seasons, playing for Shamrock Rovers Hoops, O'Boyle led all Irish players in scoring and three point shots made. O'Boyle transferred to Ulster Elks for the 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 seasons averaging 13.2ppg, FGP: 46%, 3pt: 36.6%. O'Boyle signed with Neptune Cork for the 2010/2011 season.
