According to lead singer Reggie Youngblood the track was inspired by Jacksonville's dance party scene: Although he frequented them he realized more often than not he would usually end up with girls who couldn't dance. The song is noted for its 'bi-curious' lyrics, specifically the line "You are the girl, that I've been dreaming of, ever since I was a little girl". According to Reggie's sister and fellow bandmate Ali Youngblood, this is based on an inside joke between the two of them where they would refer to wanting something "Ever since I was a little girl".
