Saeed is also President of the Iraqi FA. It is rumored that Hussein Saeed is planning on stepping down from his position for the interest of Iraqi football. Saeed was involved in a row which led to the IFA being disbanded by FIFA due to Government intervention. In a recent interview with AlSharqiya TV Hussein Saeed said "I feel that my position as IFA president has caused me a lot of stress and it has been a hastle and I am not sure that I can continue this position for any longer." Hussein Saeed also said that he has been attacked by the Iraqi media and public and named as "selfish and unwilling to work in the interest of Iraqi football". He said he is willing to do whatever it takes to get Iraq out of the current crisis.
