Hunter's Response
Encyclopedia
The Hunter's Response, also known as the Lewis wave, is a tendency for certain people in a cold environment, to periodically open to allow blood flow
of capillaries of the extremities , when they might otherwise be constricted to preserve the body's core temperature. The Hunter's Response is most common in people, such as Inuit and arctic fishermen, who regularly work in the cold without gloves.
