, attracting an offer of investment from James Caan and Duncan Bannatyne. Following handshakes and an initial pledge to invest in "the Den", James Caan (entrepreneur)

 and his team of advisors took charge of due diligence. This process is reported to have taken 6 months, with the end result that the deal did not go ahead. In May 2008, after the collapse of the deal with James Caan and Duncan Bannatyne, hungryhouse's founders accepted an offer of £150,000 investment from alternative Business Angels, who initially discovered hungryhouse whilst watching Dragons' Den on TV.

After securing stage 1 funding of £150,000, the business increased the number of restaurant partnerships listed, expanding from offering 150 menus in London when it first appeared on Dragons' Den in 2007, to list 2500 menus by September 2010. As reported on "Dragons' Den: What happened Next?" in September 2010, the business is currently seeking stage 2 funding in order to continue expansion.
