Houston's was the first restaurant launched by George Biel's Beverly Hills-based Hillstone Restaurant Group, which went into business in 1975. The Hillstone Group also owns Gulfsteam, Bandera, Rutherford Grill, Palm Beach Grill, Cherry Cheek Grill, Los Altos Grill, Woodmont Grill, R+D, Hillstone, South Beverly Grill and East Hampton Grill
