, the second largest city in Nevada. It is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services and the Commission on Fire Accreditation International.

As a department they respond mostly to structure fires and emergency medical calls. Some members of the HFD are also members of FEMA's Nevada Task Force 1- Urban Search & Rescue Team.
