Halkyn also had many pubs back in the day there was lots of pubs such as the Crown Inn now known as crown cottages also the Royal Oak halkyn now knock as the old royal oak,raven known as raven cottage located in the catch and the blue bell in which is still serving a pint for the villagers to enjoy today.There was also a few shops there was a butchers a post office originally run from holly house then after moved over the road which has now closed also the crown inn was a shop up until 1892 when it was licensed as a beer house and also there was a shop located at a house called swn y mynnyd now a private house.
