Greektown Casino Resort (2009) in Detroit, Michigan is one of four casinos in the Detroit-Windsor area. It is majority owned by the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians. The casino, which opened its doors on November 11, 2000, is operated by Millennium Management Group.

History and development
Greektown Casino has abandoned plans to build a 26-story hotel tower at Gratiot and I-375. Instead, it will stay in the Greektown district. Site preparation for the new hotel which included demolition of a city-owned parking garage started in June 2006. Construction began in October 2006 with a completion date of 2008. The new design (after two redesigns) will include:
- Opened November 15, 2007: a new 13-story, 3,500-space, free parking garage at Monroe and St. Antoine
- Opened November 2008: of additional gaming space built over Lafayette to bring total gaming space to .
- Opened November 28, 2008: expanded and re-designed VIP gaming area
- Opened February 16, 2009: a 30-story, 400-room hotel attached to the parking garage. Reservations are being taken now.

On the 31st of May 2008, the Casino owners, Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection. The move will allow the Casino to reorganize their debt and proceed with present expansion, according to the Casino owners. The move doesn't affect current casino operations, the temporary casino will continue to operate and the permanent hotel and casino will be built during the period of bankruptcy protection which is a legal measure that allows a company to refinance debt without threat of foreclosure to lenders.
