The Global Fair & Festival 2009 Incheon, Korea is an international event taking place in Incheon, the third largest metropolitan city in Korea, beginning on August 7th and running through October 25th for a period of 80 days.
Incheon is home to the country's international airport and an international seaport. The metropolitan city is also the first city designated by the Central Government as a Free Economic Zone. Three areas in the city, Yeongjong, Cheongna, and Songdo have been designated as the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ). related to future city development. Each corporation or institution will participate in the form of an exhibition with contents displaying the evolution of cities, the future direction in which cities are headed, and contemporary city trends. Exhibitions will also showcase various urban cultures, high-tech products, environment friendly alternatives to everyday urban life, and promotional opportunities for all participants.
Conferences
The Global Fair & Festival will also feature a variety of international conferences. Conferences focusing on urban issues will be held for the entire 80 days of the Fair & Festival. Influential leaders, city representatives, prominent scholars, CEO's, urban planners, and urban developers will be invited to participate and speak in the various forums and conferences. Among the many conferences are the Asia Pacific Cities Summit and the UN Environment Forum.
The Asia Pacific Cities Summit is an initiative of the Brisbane City Council. It is a biennially held conference between Brisbane City and bidding cities. It is recognized as one of the leading business and government forums across the Aisa Pacific Region.
