Livestrong Giro Atmos
Giro teamed up with the Discovery Channel in 2007 with a Livestrong edition of the Giro Atmos. Five per cent of Atmos sales from the Discovery Channel store benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Giro is part of Bell Sports in Rantoul, Illinois. Dozens of models are produced under both brands, the bulk of manufacturing being in China.
Giro Ionos
In May 2006 (at the Tour de France, Giro introduced a new top-of-the-range helmet, the Ionos ((pronounced 'i-oh-nOs'). Available first to professional riders, and later (Spring'2007) to the public, the helmet is one of a handful available that were designed in a windtunnel, the 21 active vents cool riders by pulling fresh air into the helmet and circulating it through a system of internal channels while forcing heat out of the helmet. This is an updated version of the same system used in Giro Amos and Pneumo helmets. In the medium size, the helmet weighs 260 grams.
The Ionos is available in a variety of colours, and in 2009, Giro announced a [Livestrong-themed Ionos|http://livestrong.giro.com/#/ionos].
