Editor Jason Gregory attributed Gigwise's rise to success to coverage of more mainstream acts during the summer of 2010 when he took over editorship of the site. The site began as a live music listings service in Liverpool, then expanded to cover news, reviews and interviews. The business relocated to London in 2006.
Gigwise has a weekly news round-up on its media player produced by ReelKandi and presented by Adrian Dickson

In April 2011, Gigwise Launched their new monthly Club night at XOYO with Young Knives playing an album launch. Lock'n'Load events have also confirmed that Gigwise will have their own Arena at Get Loaded In The Park
