Current state law provides for 180 members. Elections are held the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November in even-numbered years. It is the third largest lower house in the United States (behind New Hampshire (400) and Pennsylvania) (203). Interestingly, as of 2011, attorneys only account for about 16.11% of the Georgia House of Representatives. {|class=wikitable style="text-align:center" |-valign=bottom !rowspan=3|Affiliation !colspan=3|Party !rowspan=3|Total ! |-style="height:5px" || || || |bgcolor=black| |- !Republican !Democratic !Independent !Vacant |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|End of 149th General Assembly ||107 | 73 | 0 ! 180 | 0 |- |colspan=5| |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|Begin | rowspan=2|105 | 75 | rowspan=6|0 ! 180 |0 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|April 21, 2009 | rowspan=2| 73 ! 178 |2 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|June 25, 2009 | rowspan=2|104 ! 177 |3 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|August 15, 2009 | rowspan=2|72 ! 176 |4 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|September 16, 2009 ||103 ! 175 |5 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|November 3, 2009 ||104 |73 ! 177 |3 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|December 1, 2009 ||105 |rowspan=2|74 |rowspan=10|1 !180 |0 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|January 1, 2010 | rowspan=2|104 !179 |1 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|February 18, 2010 |rowspan=4|73 !178 |2 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|February 23, 2010 ||105 !179 |1 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|March 23, 2010 ||104 !178 |2 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|May 11, 2010 ||105 !rowspan=5|179 |rowspan=5|1 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|November 17, 2010 ||108 |70 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|November 22, 2010 ||110 |68 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|December 7, 2010 ||111 |67 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|End of 150th General Assembly ||112 |66 |- |colspan=5| |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|Start of 151st General Assembly ||114 |rowspan=3|63 |rowspan=9|1 |178 |2 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|February 16, 2011 ||116 |180 |0 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|April 29, 2011 | rowspan=2|115 |179 |1 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|May 2, 2011 |62 |178 |2 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|July 19, 2011 ||116 |rowspan=5|63 |180 |0 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|July 26, 2011 ||115 |179 |1 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|October 2, 2011 ||113 |177 |3 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|October 18, 2011 ||114 |178 |2 |- !nowrap style="font-size:80%"|November 8, 2011 ||115 |179 |1 |- !Latest voting share !|64.2% !35.2% !0.6% !colspan=2| |} ===Officers=== The House of Representatives elects its own Speaker as well as a Speaker Pro Tempore.
