George Kollias, PhD, is President and Scientific Director of Alexander Fleming BSRC and the coordinator of MUGEN NoE. He obtained his BSc and his PhD from the University of Athens (Greece). He was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute for Medical Research in London UK (1985-1987). He was the Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics at the Hellenic Pasteur Institute in Athens, Greece (1989-2000) and the Director of Institute for Immunology at FLM (2000-2002).

He was the Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics at the Hellenic Pasteur Institute in Athens, Greece (1989-2000) and the Director of Institute for Immunology at FLM (2000-2002). Dr Kollias is an EMBO member. He has a long record in the generation and characterization of animal models of human diseases. His laboratory is highly proficient in the generation and histopathological characterization of transgenic mice as well as conventional and tissue specific gene-knockout mice. Dr. George Kollias is a distinguished scientist with an H-index over 40.
